Youth Speaks is a public speaking competition for young people in two age groups – 13 to 15 and 16 to 18, and provides a marvellous opportunity for young people to develop public speaking skills, build confidence and work as a team.
Each team consists of 3 people: Chairman, Speaker and Proposer of the Vote of Thanks. Judging takes account of clarity, content and impact as well as general presentation of the team, all against a strict time frame.
Youth Speaks is open to all schools and youth organisations with young people in the appropriate age bands.
We ran our local heat on 22nd November 2010 and a further practice on 7th February 2011 Details and photographs

RIBI regards encouraging and developing speaking and presentation skills in young people as highly important, and we are pleased that our schools seem to agree. The RIBI Youth Speaks competition, as a result, continues to go from strength to strength each year, producing some superb quality speakers in our young people. This competition is open to young people in the qualifying age groups. |
